Celebrating Birthdays!

The latest ‘birthday’ addition and this time it was for someones 50th party. Sometimes I am given ‘free range’ on colours but for this one it was clear and straight forward – black and white with silver letters! My biggest achievement on this banner was that I actually made my own bias binding. 3 1/2 hours later I had 12 m’s of black bias but I will never again complain about paying ???? for it!!! Anyway, it was all worth it and I love working on and then seeing the finished results of my customers ideas!

I made the ‘Happy Birthday’ banner for someone who had three upcoming birthdays to celebrate in just a few short weeks. As you can see below, an 80th one for her Mum and then a joint party for her daughter and her friend. I am sure that it will be brought out for many other birthdays as well.

I was also delighted to have been able to lend them all the bunting that I made for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. My friend told me how it had made the hall look extra special.

Identical banners for really good friends, and now that the party is over, the girls have been able to hang their banners on their bedroom walls, as a happy reminder of their 16th party.

Why don’t you let me take all the stress out of it all for you? Children have so many toys and they love to see their names decorating their bedroom walls. I was amazed that I was able to fulfil the request for ‘Super Heroes’ fabric but find it I did and it fitted the bill exactly.

And you can’t go wrong with pink for any little girl!!

It’s quite hard to see but the fabric on the ends of this banner is full of butterflies.

Family Projects!!

This is one of the first personalised banners that I ever made and is was a gift for my son’s girlfriend on her 21st birthday. Her title, I am delighted to say, has recently changed to Fiancé and before the year is out, it will change again to ‘Wife’!

My nephew – was delighted with his present! Keep it in mind for next year everyone!

My son asked me to make this one for him. I guess you are never too old – even at 17!!

Rather special additions!

I made this recently for a Local school to hang near their library area.

Oh how special this one was! It was made to order for a model railway fanatic to hang on his garden fence when they have open days in the summer. (See the post ‘And it’s up!) The flags were twice the normal size, so as to accommodate the engine and trucks and then personalised accordingly. All the motifs were cut out of felt and had to be stuck on, as pressing them would have flattened the felt.

Jane & Duncan’s Light Railway will launch their banner once the sunshine is warm enough for them to be outside again!!

Fotor0220105344 This banner shows that nothing is impossible!! My brief was to use some first size baby clothes to make the flags for her 1st birthday. Trying to work around the poppers and the openings, as well as dealing with the thickness of the fabric, no mean task I can tell you but … I was pleased with the outcome and so were my customers! Phew!!
